While some animals look harmless but can actually kill you, others are quite the opposite.

While appearances can be deceiving, there are several animals that may look dangerous at first glance but are actually friendly and pose little to no threat to humans.

Here are a few examples.

Bats

Despite their association with vampires and spooky imagery, most bat species are harmless and play a crucial role in ecosystems as pollinators or insect eaters.

Bearded Dragons

These reptiles have intimidating-looking spiky skin and a bearded appearance, but they are generally docile and make popular pets known for their gentle nature.

Tarantulas

Although tarantulas may invoke fear due to their large size and hairy appearance, most species are not aggressive toward humans and only bite if they feel threatened.

They are commonly kept as exotic pets.

Swans

With their large size and territorial behavior, swans might seem intimidating, especially when defending their nests.

However, they are generally peaceful and are known for their elegance and beauty.

Boxer Crabs

These small marine crustaceans, also known as pom-pom crabs, have an intriguing defense mechanism of carrying small anemones in their claws.

While they may appear menacing, they are harmless to humans.
