If you want to remodel your kitchen, then you might be a bit confused by the number of options available.

At the same time, lots of them are actually outdated or simply not trendy anymore.

Let's take a look at them.

Busy and ornate cabinetry

Intricate, heavily detailed cabinet designs with multiple embellishments, excessive molding, or ornate handles are no longer in vogue.

Overwhelming color schemes

Kitchens with overly bold or garish color schemes, such as vibrant and clashing hues, have fallen out of fashion.

Closed-off kitchen layouts

Closed-off kitchens, where walls separate the kitchen from other living spaces, are less popular in modern design.

Open-concept layouts that integrate the kitchen with dining or living areas create a sense of spaciousness and promote social interaction.

Laminate countertops

Laminate countertops with busy patterns or faux finishes are no longer in vogue.

Excessive upper cabinetry

Kitchens with rows of upper cabinets that cover every wall from floor to ceiling can create a cramped and dated look.

Fluorescent lighting

Harsh fluorescent lighting has become outdated in kitchen design.

Instead, softer and more energy-efficient lighting options, such as LED fixtures, recessed lighting, pendant lights, or under-cabinet lighting, are preferred for creating a warm and inviting ambiance.
