In most designs and architecture styles, big windows are like big eyes on the face - it's beautiful and full of character.

Some interior design mistakes can make the windows look smaller, creating a less comfortable look.

Here are some of these mistakes you should remember about when choosing your new interior design.

Heavy Curtains

Using thick or dark curtains can block a lot of natural light and make the windows feel smaller.

Lighter and sheer curtains allow more light to come through, making the windows seem larger.

Covering the Window Frame

Placing furniture or decorations too close to the window frame can make the windows look cramped.

Leave some space around the window so it can stand out and give the impression of a larger opening.

Using the Wrong Window Treatments

Choosing window treatments that are too long or too short can be a mistake.

Curtains that are too long might bunch up on the floor, creating a cluttered look.

On the other hand, curtains that are too short might not fully cover the window, making it seem smaller.

Dark Paint Colors

Painting the area around your windows with dark colors can absorb light, making the space feel smaller.

Opt for lighter paint colors to reflect more light and create a sense of openness.

Neglecting the View

If you have a nice view outside, make sure not to block it.

Keeping the area around your window clear of obstacles allows the eye to travel beyond the window, giving the impression of a more expansive space.
