If you're about to have a huge party, then you should be ready not only to clean your house before they arrive, but also after they leave.

Many guests can create lots of mess, so you should put some time and effort into making your house nice and clean again.

Here's how you can do that.

Start with the common areas

Begin cleaning the main areas where your guests spent most of their time, like the living room, kitchen, and bathroom.

Pick up any trash or empty bottles and dispose of them in garbage bags.

Clear surfaces

Remove any dishes, cups, or leftover food from tables, countertops, and other surfaces.

Put the dishes in the sink or dishwasher for later cleaning.

Wipe down surfaces

Use all-purpose cleaner and a cloth to wipe down tables, countertops, and other surfaces.

Pay attention to sticky spots or spills, and clean them thoroughly.

Vacuum and sweep

Vacuum the floors to remove any dirt, crumbs, or debris.

Sweep hard floors to gather any loose dirt or dust.

Mop the floors

If you have hard floors, mop them using a suitable cleaner and mop or a damp cloth.

Focus on areas that may have had spills or stains.

Clean the bathroom

Scrub the toilet, sink, and bathtub/shower with appropriate cleaning products.

Wipe down mirrors and countertops using glass cleaner. Replace towels if necessary.

Check for stains

Inspect furniture, carpets, or rugs for any stains left by spills.

Treat stains with appropriate stain removers or cleaning products.

Empty trash

Empty all garbage cans and replace the liners. Take the trash bags outside to your main trash bin.

Freshen the air

Open windows or use air fresheners to help eliminate any lingering odors.

Restock supplies

Check if you need to replenish toilet paper, hand soap, or other essential supplies.

Rest and relax

Once everything is clean and in order, take a moment to rest and enjoy your freshly cleaned home.

Previously, we talked about keeping a stove top clean.
