A team of Finnish scientists from the University of Helsinki, Folkhälsan Research Center and the University of Turku have identified factors associated with basic personality traits in dogs.
The results of the study were published in the journal iScience.
The formation of character and, as a result, behavior depends precisely on how the dog is raised and trained, what equipment, toys and other means are used for this.
Therefore, the result depends on the owner.
The first signs of maturation can be noticed already at the age of 7–8 months.
But the main changes in both the appearance and character of the puppy begin at 9 or 10 months of age.
The period from approximately 3 to 10 weeks is an important stage of socialization, during which habits are formed that babies will remember for the rest of their lives.
As a rule, by the age of eighteen months, the pet gains maturity and fully adapts to its place in the family.
