Lilies need to be planted in early spring, when the ground thaws on a spade bayonet, or in August-September. Before lowering the lilies into the ground, they must be pickled in a lilac solution of potassium permanganate in order to prevent diseases.
It is believed that all lilies develop better in bright, sunny areas. In the case of hybrid plants, this is justified for all lilies, except for oriental and martagon hybrids.
Such varieties of plants grow only in partial shade, and suffer in sunny places. Asiatic and LA hybrids of lilies can grow in any light, except for shading.
Ideal soils are loams or sandy loams with a neutral or slightly acidic reaction. On heavy soils, it is recommended to make higher ridges; before planting, you can add a mixture of leaf humus, decomposed manure, compost (preferably horse) and sand.
Lilies need moist soil. Therefore, they should be watered regularly if it does not rain or they are in a pot. Water is especially important during the flowering period. Good drainage must first be ensured.
