The living room is a place where a person relaxes, spends time with friends and family. Therefore, it is important to properly equip the room and arrange furniture in it.

Where should the sofa be in the living room

A direct configuration works well.

If you are using the living room as a bedroom, then place the sofa on the smallest side of the room so that it is convenient to lay it out.

In a square room it is good to place corner sofas. Remember that in a small space you do not need to put a sofa and cabinets along the same wall.

What furniture can be found in the living room

  • upholstered furniture: armchair, sofa, ottoman, chair;
  • modular furniture items: rack, wall, shelf;
  • a table (usually a low coffee table);
  • cabinet for placing a TV, if it is not built into the wall.

As a rule, upholstered furniture is placed in a medium-sized living room: a sofa with armchairs, as well as a coffee table and a rack for TVs and equipment. If space permits, they try to install a multifunctional cabinet or wall with space for equipment.

Where should the closet be

In order for you to see the contents well, enough light must fall on it. Therefore, it is best to put the cabinet opposite the window, in extreme cases, on the side. It should not be placed next to a window. If the cabinet has hinged doors - they should open freely, leave space in front of it.

How to occupy an empty corner in the living room

An empty corner in the apartment makes the interior unfinished. It can be occupied with something useful or pleasant: put an accessory for additional storage or a full-fledged piece of furniture, for example, a chest of drawers. In the corner it is convenient to organize a place for relaxation or a hobby: arrange books, musical instruments in it.
