Of all things you have to clean at home, grease might be the worst – it smells, it stains other things, and it's hard to get rid of.

If you have a full baking tray of grease, then you can still clean it and make it look perfect.

Here's how you can do it.

Let it cool down

Allow the baking tray to cool completely before attempting to clean it.

Cleaning while it's hot can be dangerous and may damage the tray.

Remove loose debris

Use a spatula or a soft brush to scrape off any loose food particles or residue from the tray.

Be gentle to avoid scratching the surface.

Soak in hot, soapy water

Fill your sink or a basin with hot water and add a generous amount of dish soap.

Place the greasy baking tray in the soapy water and let it soak for about 15-30 minutes.

This will help loosen the grease.

Scrub with a sponge or brush

After soaking, take a sponge or a non-abrasive brush and scrub the baking tray, focusing on the greasy areas.

Apply some pressure and use circular motions to remove the grease.

Use baking soda or vinegar

If the grease is stubborn, you can sprinkle baking soda or pour vinegar on the greasy spots.

Let it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing again.

Baking soda and vinegar can help break down the grease.

Rinse thoroughly

Once you have scrubbed the baking tray and removed the grease, rinse it thoroughly with warm water.

Make sure to remove all the soap, baking soda, or vinegar residue.

Dry completely

After rinsing, dry the baking tray thoroughly with a clean towel or leave it to air-dry.

Moisture can lead to rust or other issues, so ensure it is completely dry before storing it.

Consider using aluminum foil or parchment paper

To prevent excessive grease buildup in the future, you can line the baking tray with aluminum foil or parchment paper before using it.

This will make cleanup easier and reduce the need for intense scrubbing.
