Corduroy is good for everyone: a soft, comfortable, wear-resistant fabric that can have a coarse or smoother texture - and due to this, it can look completely different in an outfit.
The only drawback: corduroy is often associated with retro styling and, in a certain combination, looks old-fashioned.
You should not wash corduroy in an automatic machine, as the fabric will quickly lose its softness and velvety feel.
It’s better to immerse the item in a basin of warm water, to which a little delicate laundry detergent or shampoo has been added in advance.
Do not rub, twist or squeeze corduroy items, as they quickly become deformed.
To safely wash corduroy, you need to dilute 20 grams of ammonia in 10 liters of cold water.
Next, you need to soak the corduroy item for 15 minutes.
After time has passed, you can wash the product with soap and rinse well in running water.
To soften the silk a little, you can wash it in water and vinegar.
The proportions should not exceed several teaspoons per 4-5 liters of water.
Vinegar will also revive the colors of the fabric.
After washing with vinegar, you should, of course, rinse the silk again in clean, warm water.
Velvet and corduroy products are ironed only in the direction of the pile, with light movements without pressure, and not on a hard base, but on a soft one or even in a suspended position.
