Preparations from flowers, leaves and roots of mullein are used externally.
They are used to treat wounds and hemorrhoids, neuralgia and joint pain, skin inflammation and burns.
Mullein flower tincture is an effective pain reliever and anti-inflammatory agent in cases of rheumatism, arthritis, and arthrosis.
Mullein is recommended as a diuretic; a decoction of the leaves and roots is drunk for chronic cystitis, as well as for shortness of breath, bronchial asthma, pulmonary tuberculosis, bronchitis, gastritis, colitis, enterocolitis, diarrhea, liver and spleen diseases, colds, rheumatism, and headaches.
Used to treat abdominal pain and diarrhea; infusions and decoctions of mullein are among the best remedies for colds (laryngitis, tracheitis and bronchitis); has a good expectorant and enveloping effect on catarrh of the lungs and throat, cough and pulmonary asthma.

Prepare an infusion at the rate of 5 g of flowers per 1 cup of boiling water, take 1/3-1/2 cup warm 2-3 times a day.
