Pumpkins of this type often thicken closer to the flower, where their seeds are concentrated.
How to care for pumpkin in open ground
The pumpkin's root system is very powerful, so make sure that the soil around it is always well moistened.
Water the pumpkin at least twice a week and very generously (3 watering cans for each plant).
In hot weather, water more often.
In August, watering is reduced and then stopped altogether (three weeks before harvest).
What to do to make pumpkins bear fruit
Also limit the growth of side shoots.
If you wish, you can leave just a couple of the strongest lashes, except for the main one, and remove the rest.
Such measures will stimulate the plant to develop fruits.
Remember that too thick greenery will shade the flowers and interfere with their pollination.

If there is no dent left, then the pumpkin is ripe.
In ripe fruits, stripes and spots disappear, the color becomes beige-brown.
