Peonies are chic flowers that amaze with their beauty and aroma. In the article, you will learn about the features of caring for this plant.

How and when to plant peonies

The best period is the end of April - May.

From mid-August, tree-like and ito-groups of peonies are planted, and then herbaceous ones.
The remaining periods of pion transplantation, like spring and summer, are less preferable - the plants will get sick, but they will be accepted, given some of the nuances of the transplant.

A place for planting a peony must be chosen sunny, preferably protected from the wind.

Compost, humus or weathered manure is placed at the bottom of the pit, covered with nutrient soil so that the pion roots do not come into contact with manure.

The soil for backfilling the roots is prepared from a mixture of garden soil, compost and ash. This factor is extremely important for the well-being of peonies.

Proper watering of peonies

In the heat, peonies need to be watered every 7-10 days. Watering is especially important in late May - early July, when the bushes quickly grow and flowers form.

Another important stage is mid-July - August, when renewal buds are laid. Many pour water directly under the bush, where there are practically no roots.

Feeding and pruning

The beginning of the third decade of September is the time to prune herbaceous peonies and feed the peonies.

Ito hybrids and tree species are pruned immediately before shelter, but fed in the same way as herbaceous ones. The purpose of autumn feeding is to help plants prepare for winter and endure all its surprises.
