It is generally not recommended to give milk to hedgehogs.

Hedgehogs are lactose intolerant, which means they lack the enzyme needed to digest lactose, the sugar found in milk.

Feeding them milk or other dairy products can cause digestive issues such as diarrhea, bloating, and discomfort.

Provide a balanced diet

Instead of milk, hedgehogs should be provided with a balanced diet suitable for their specific nutritional needs.

In the wild, hedgehogs primarily consume insects, worms, and other small invertebrates.

You can buy commercial food

As pets, they can be fed a commercial hedgehog food that is specially formulated to meet their dietary requirements.

Additionally, offering a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, and high-quality protein sources like cooked chicken or mealworms can provide them with necessary nutrients.

Give them water

Fresh water should always be available for hedgehogs to drink.

It is essential to provide them with a suitable water dish or water bottle and ensure it is cleaned and refilled regularly.

If you encounter a sick or injured hedgehog and are unsure of its dietary needs, it is best to contact a wildlife rehabilitator or veterinarian with expertise in treating hedgehogs for guidance on proper care and feeding.
