A team of researchers discovered that ladies who struggle with insomnia symptoms have a higher risk of developing hypertension.

The new experiment shows the importance of quality sleep for maintaining good health.

Over a span of sixteen years, the study followed over 66.000 women aged 25-42 who did not have hypertension initially.

Those who slept less than 7-8 hours per night had a significantly higher risk of hypertension.

Women with difficulty falling and staying asleep also had an increased risk.

Why It's Important To Know

The test results suggest that sleep difficulties can contribute to sodium retention, arterial stiffness, and other factors that lead to hypertension.

The study's limitations include intermittent data collection on sleep quality.

The specialists plan to expand their research to include men and non-binary people.
