Onions are marinated not only for barbecue, but also for salads, herring and many other dishes.
This usually takes at least 30 minutes, but there are culinary tricks that allow you to do this much faster, or rather, in a couple of minutes, not counting the time for peeling the onions.
Take two bowls, pour ice into one, and pour boiling water into the other.
By this time, the onion should already be peeled and cut (rings, half rings or small cubes).
First, pour the prepared for the marinade vegetable with boiling water and left for a minute.
Then drain the water and immediately transfer the onion to a vessel with ice and wait another minute in the same way.
After that, it remains to remove the ice, add vinegar, salt, sugar and your favorite spices.
Thanks to this processing, the onion pickles very quickly, it turns out without bitterness, but fragrant and with a characteristic sourness.
