The easiest way to grow it is directly in open ground. Seeds are planted in winter or early spring.
Before planting, the area is cleaned and thoroughly dug up.
If spring sowing is planned, the seed material must be stratified - this will increase germination, accelerate the formation of stems, flowering, and bud growth.
It is possible to grow through seedlings. When sowing in spring and growing through seedlings, stratification is required: the seeds are wrapped in film, covered with damp sand and placed in the refrigerator for 4-6 weeks.
Sowing is carried out in furrows 2 cm deep, leaving row spacings of 45-60 cm.
Seedlings are thinned to a distance of 15-20 cm.
Motherwort is propagated by seeds. They are sown in the ground before winter or in early spring (when planting in spring, the seeds must be scarified).
The depth of seed placement during winter sowing is 1-1.5 cm, during spring sowing - up to 2 cm, on lighter structural soils - up to 3 cm.
The inflorescences are mainly harvested and used for medicinal purposes.
Therefore, you need to collect motherwort during flowering.
Dried motherwort can be stored in glass jars, paper bags and boxes, and canvas bags for 2-3 years.
