The main function of any varnish is to create a protective film on the surface of the wood.
At the same time, the big advantage of the varnish is its transparency.
It is important for a tree that its natural structure and pattern of rings are visible.
Before properly varnishing wood, you should apply two so-called primer layers, which are used to further level the surface being treated (filling microscopic cracks).
Before preparing the varnish and brushes, you need to treat the wooden surface.
Wipe the product thoroughly from all sides, and then remove any remaining old coating.
This can be done using ordinary coarse-grained sandpaper, along the grain.
Apply varnish along the wood grain. Drying and polishing.
The first layer of varnish is dried for about three to four hours (however, it all depends on the type of paint and varnish composition), and then sanded with sandpaper.
To ensure that no dust remains on the surface, wipe it with a damp sponge and finally clean it with a clean cloth.
Between layers, after drying (2-4 hours after application), it is necessary to sand the coating using abrasive (150), then remove dust.
The coating is ready for the next layer
