How to get rid of moth: No more food and clothes spoilage

Moth isn't the worst insect that you can find in your house, but it's still one of the most popular ones.

Some varieties of this pest can spoil your food (especially grains), others destroy clothes.

Here's how you can get rid of them.

Locate the source

Moths typically lay eggs near their food sources, so check areas like your pantry, closets, or storage areas. 

Remove infested items

For pantry moths, throw away infested food packages, including grains, cereals, pasta, and pet food. 

For clothes moths, remove and wash infested clothing, blankets, or upholstered furniture. 

Clean and vacuum

Thoroughly clean and vacuum your home to eliminate any remaining eggs, larvae, or adult moths. 

Pay special attention to cracks, crevices, corners, and shelves where moths might hide. 

Empty your vacuum cleaner bag or canister outside to prevent reinfestation.

Wash and freeze

For clothes moths, wash infested items in hot water and dry them on high heat to kill any remaining eggs or larvae. 

Freezing infested items for a few days can also be an effective method, as extreme cold temperatures can kill moths in all stages of their life cycle.

Seal entry points

Prevent future moth infestations by sealing any entry points they might use to get into your home. 

Use moth repellents

Consider using natural or commercial moth repellents to deter moths from entering your home.
