Floor Space
For a pair of rats, the cage should have at least 2 square feet of floor space.
For each additional rat, add 1 square foot of floor space.
Height
The cage should be tall enough to accommodate multiple levels and provide vertical climbing opportunities.
A height of 2 feet or more is recommended.
Multiple Levels

Bar Spacing
