Daffodils are perennial spring flowers that everyone loves. These plants feel both cool and warm weather.
When to plant daffodil bulbs
Soil temperature should be between 55-60℉. This temperature will allow the bulbs to quickly germinate the root system.
If the weather is warm and favorable, the bulbs will quickly begin to sprout leaves.
For planting, it is recommended to choose September or October. A moderately cold winter is important for the life cycle of daffodils.
In hot climates, choose December or January.
How to plant daffodil bulbs
Two nuances are important for the plant: soil drainage and plenty of sunlight. Therefore, choose a landing site for which the sun's rays are available.
Slopes are well suited for the development of daffodils. Before planting, loosen the soil and dig a hole 8 inches deep. Wet soil is not suitable for daffodils.
Plant daffodils in small groups of 10 with some space. The American Narcissus Society recommends planting the bottom of the bulb at least 3 times deeper than the height of the bulb.
However, keep in mind that different varieties of daffodils have different sizes and shapes of bulbs.
Place the bulb in the ground with the pointed side up. Tamp the soil down and water the soil generously.
