Any well-fertilized soil intended for indoor plants is suitable for growing a coffee tree.

How to grow

Like many tropical crops, the coffee tree is demanding on the level of soil acidity (pH=7). To independently determine the acidity of the soil, use litmus papers sold in pharmacies.

The coffee tree must be planted in a large, tall pot, drainage should be provided from below, and then the plant should be hidden from direct sunlight in a bright room.

Place a pot with a plant in the west, east or southeast, create free space around it within a radius of half a meter.

Until it reaches three, the coffee tree must be replanted every year.

You need to choose a deep pot, use loose soil with an acidic reaction, and be sure to add a good drainage layer.

How to care for a potted coffee tree

The most important thing in caring for coffee is to protect it from drafts, sudden temperature changes and air temperature drops below 15 degrees, maintain high air humidity all year round (spray the plant regularly) and use only well-settled water for watering.

When does the coffee tree begin to bloom

The coffee tree begins to bloom in the third year of life, peak flowering occurs after 4-5 years.

Following flowering, the development of coffee berries occurs.

Most coffee fruits become bright red and glossy when ripe, but some varieties are yellow in color when ripe.
