Quinoa is a superfood that you can grow yourself. In the article you will learn about the features of care.
Planting quinoa in the garden
The culture successfully grows at an altitude of 3000 - 4000 m above sea level, on rocky areas with poor soil and harsh climatic conditions.
The seeds germinate very quickly. It is enough to soak them and after 6-8 hours the first roots will appear. It is best to plant seeds in open ground, without the use of seedlings, since young shoots require low temperatures for best growth.
Sow quinoa in rows in well-moistened soil to a depth of 1-1.5 cm, trying not to thicken the crops. As soon as shoots appear, they need to be thinned out. The next thinning is carried out after 10 days.
How to Water Quinoa
Before the seeds begin to germinate, the soil needs to be moistened frequently, but with the advent of quinoa shoots, watering is stopped for a while and the watering regime is restored only at the stage of development in seedlings of 2-3 leaves. Keep the beds clean: there should be no weeds on it.
Quinoa fertilizer
In order to obtain higher yields (up to 18% increase), plants can be fed with nitrophoska or nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizers during the release of inflorescences.
