Seeds are sown directly into the ground in late April - early May to a depth of 1.5 cm, with a distance of at least 10 cm between plants. Already at +10°C shoots begin to appear, but active growth begins at +20°C. Fenugreek does not require care: it is enough to water during the drought period, loosen the soil and remove weeds.
Watering
Fenugreek needs regular watering, allow the surface of the soil to dry out between waterings, try not to water it too much. Once the seed pods have formed, water generously once a week. At home, spraying 1-2 times a day has shown itself well.
When to plant fenugreek
If you plant it for seeds, then it is worth doing in the spring. If you are growing it for culinary use, you can plant it anytime between spring and mid-fall. If you live in hot areas, you can grow fenugreek all year round.
How to germinate and store fenugreek
Before sprouting, fenugreek seeds should be washed well in cool water, and then soaked in warm, necessarily boiled water, for 8–14 hours. This can be done both in a regular jar and in a special germinator. Seeds should be left for 3-5 days.
