Pests and bad weather conditions can spoil your harvest, and so can birds.

Birds tend to be smarter than insects, so you need more advanced methods to keep them away from your garden.

Here are a few tips for you.

Netting

Use bird netting to cover vulnerable areas of your garden, such as fruit trees, vegetable patches, or berry bushes.

Secure the netting tightly to prevent birds from accessing your crops while still allowing sunlight and airflow.

Scare Tactics

Install scare devices like reflective tape, shiny objects, or scarecrows to deter birds.

These visual deterrents create movement and noise, which can make birds feel uneasy and discourage them from landing in your garden.

Noise Makers

Use noise-making devices like wind chimes, bells, or bird distress calls to startle birds and make them wary of your garden.

Change the noise patterns periodically to prevent habituation.

Physical Barriers

Erect physical barriers like fences, bird spikes, or bird wires to prevent birds from accessing specific areas.

Harvest Timely

Harvest fruits and vegetables as soon as they ripen to reduce the chances of attracting birds.

Removing tempting food sources promptly can discourage them from frequenting your garden.

Bird Feeders and Baths

Provide bird feeders and bird baths in a separate area of your yard away from your garden.

This can distract birds, offering them an alternative food and water source, while keeping them away from your crops.
