If you're a keen collector, then you probably have lots of items you would be proud to showcase to others – but how can you do it?
If your collection is full of beautiful dry plants and flowers, then you probably should place them on your wall and create an installation.
Here are a few tips that will help you do that.
Choose a Location
Pick a wall in your home where you want to display your herbarium. Make sure it's a space that gets some attention.
Gather Your Materials
Collect your pressed plants, frames, and any additional supplies like glue, scissors, and paper.
Organize Your Plants
Arrange your pressed plants in a way that looks pleasing to you. You can group them by type, color, or size.
Trim if Needed
If some plants are too big for your frames, carefully trim them down using scissors. Be gentle to avoid damaging the plants.
Prepare Frames
Open the frames and clean the glass to make sure your plants show through clearly. You can use old frames or buy new ones.
Attach Plants to Paper
If your frames have paper backing, you can gently glue your plants onto the paper. Ensure they are secure but avoid using too much glue.
Frame Your Plants
Once your plants are attached to the paper, place the paper back into the frame. Close the frame, securing your plants in place.
Arrange Frames on the Wall
Decide on the arrangement you want for your framed plants on the wall. You can go for a neat grid or a more artistic, scattered look.
Hang Frames
Use nails or hooks to hang the frames on the wall. Make sure they are secure and evenly spaced.
Enjoy Your Herbarium Display
Step back and admire your herbarium collection on the wall. This simple project adds a touch of nature and beauty to your living space.
