If you love soft and comfortable furniture, then you probably have lots of cushioned items – they are beautiful and extremely convenient to use.

The main problem is that even if you don't spill anything on them, they can become dusty in a few months, or even years.

Here are a few examples of that.

Gather Supplies

Get a clean, dry cloth or a soft brush that won't damage the fabric.

Avoid using rough or abrasive materials that could harm the cushions.

Start from the Top

Begin by dusting the top of the furniture first.

Use the cloth or brush to gently remove any dust from the surface.

Work your way down to the sides and front.

Pay Attention to Crevices

Dust tends to accumulate in crevices and seams.

Use the cloth or brush to reach those areas and carefully remove any dust or debris.

Flip and Rotate Cushions

If your furniture has removable cushions, take them off and give them a good shake outside to remove loose dust.

You can also rotate the cushions to ensure even wear and tear.

Vacuuming (Optional)

If your cushions have removable covers, you may consider using a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove any deep-seated dust or debris.

Follow the manufacturer's instructions if using a vacuum cleaner directly on the upholstery.

Spot Cleaning (If Needed)

If you notice any stains or spills on the cushions, refer to the manufacturer's cleaning instructions.

Use a mild detergent or a recommended upholstery cleaner to spot clean the affected areas.

Always test the cleaner on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn't damage the fabric.

Regular Maintenance

To prevent excessive dust buildup, try to dust your cushioned furniture regularly.

A quick dusting every week or two can help maintain cleanliness and prolong the life of the furniture.

Previously, we talked about washing a kitchen sink.
