What you need
- 450 grams of pasta;
- 100 grams of butter (not salted);
- 200 grams breadcrumbs;
- 1.5 liters of milk;
- 125 grams of flour;
- 500 grams of cheddar cheese;
- 250 grams of Gruyere cheese;
- Salt, pepper, nutmeg to taste.
How to cook macaroni and cheese
- Heat milk over medium heat. At the same time, melt the butter in the pan, add the flour and cook for 1 minute. Then pour hot milk into the mixture while stirring. The mixture should become thick.
- Remove the pot from the stove, add the spice mixture to the mixture, add the cheddar. Cheese sauce is ready.
- Boil the pasta in a separate pan for 2-3 minutes less than the manufacturer recommends.
