Cats don't always like their owners, but when they do, then it's pretty easy to understand - you just need to know the signs.

Understanding that your cat likes you involves observing their behavior and body language, as cats communicate their affection in subtle ways.

Here are some signs that your cat likes you.

Purring

Cats often purr when they are content and happy.

If your cat purrs when they are near you or while being petted, it's a sign that they feel comfortable and affectionate.

Kneading

When cats knead with their paws on you, it's a behavior they carry over from kittenhood when they knead their mother's belly to stimulate milk flow.

Kneading on you is a sign of comfort and affection.

Head Butting

If your cat rubs their head against you, it's a gesture of friendship and affection.

Cats have scent glands on their heads, and they use this behavior to mark you as part of their territory.

Following you around

If your cat follows you from room to room or likes to be near you most of the time, it's a clear sign of attachment and affection.

Bringing you "gifts"

Cats may bring you "gifts" such as toys or even prey they caught.

While it may not be pleasant for you, it's their way of showing their affection and providing for you as they would for their family.

Exposing Belly

If your cat rolls over and exposes their belly to you, it's a sign of trust.

However, not all cats enjoy belly rubs, so proceed cautiously and respect their boundaries.
