Hazardous substances from plants can be extremely dangerous to the health and life of your pet. Therefore, it is important to know which flowers should be kept away from cats.

What flowers are dangerous for cats

Here is a short list: gypsophila, azalea, strelitzia, begonia, aloe vera, clematis, chrysanthemums, daffodils, gladioli. Some types of lilies (such as Asiatic, Japanese and tiger) are poisonous to cats in the same way as amaryllis, because their bulbs contain toxic phenanthridine alkaloids.

Among garden plants that are potentially poisonous to cats, it is worth mentioning the following varieties: iris, mistletoe, chrysanthemum, daffodils, amaryllis, asparagus, tulip, ivy and many others. Despite the toxicity of plants, pets will still try to taste them.

Therefore, it is important to simply not keep flowers in the house that can harm your pet. You cannot know for sure if your cat will be interested in flowers or not.

In addition, sometimes even the pollen of some flowers is toxic to cats.

Cats can also taste plants and flowers if they lack fluids in their bodies. Provide a constant source of clean and fresh water.

If the animal refuses to drink water from a regular bowl, try using special devices - drinking fountains for pets.
