Rudbeckia triloba prefers moderately moist, well-drained soil and grows in environments with variable humidity levels.
Since annual rudbeckia is a very heat-loving plant, it can be planted directly in a flowerbed only at the end of June, when the ground warms up to + 20 degrees.
But then it will only be able to bloom in August.
Therefore, in the northern regions we recommend that you grow it through seedlings.
Rudbeckia is light and heat-loving, even heat- and drought-resistant, but can tolerate light shading and loves watering.
It is undemanding to soils, but grows better on soils fertilized with humus, medium-heavy, cultivated, well-permeable to gas and water.
Unlike cold weather, rudbeckia tolerates drought and high air temperatures very poorly.
Therefore, in order to prevent the death of the plant, it needs to be watered frequently.
In summer, when it is very hot, you may even need to water twice a day - in the morning and in the evening.
To prevent magnesium and iron deficiency, spray magnesium sulfide with a concentration of 0.05% 1-2 times and iron chelate 1-2 times.
After planting, fertilize once a month, mostly with small amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.
Apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers before flowering.
