Christmas decorations are often associated with candles and lights - that's where all Christmas magic lies!

Meanwhile, some of these CHristmas decorations can be potentially flammable, which can be dangerous when unsupervised.

Here are a few types of Xmas decor you should be careful with.

Dried Greenery

While the charm of dried wreaths and garlands is undeniable, they can be highly flammable.

Ensure they are kept away from heat sources, such as candles and fireplaces.

Paper Decorations

Paper ornaments and decorations may add a whimsical touch, but they are susceptible to catching fire easily.

Keep them away from open flames or heat-emitting decorations.

Candles

Candles are a classic part of Christmas decor, but they are also an open flame.

Keep them in secure holders, away from flammable materials, and never leave them unattended.

String Lights

Older or damaged Christmas lights can pose a fire hazard. Check for frayed wires or exposed bulbs, and replace any damaged strings.

Turn off lights when not in use, especially overnight.

Tinsel

Traditional tinsel is often made of metallic material, which can conduct electricity.

Avoid placing tinsel near electrical outlets or other conducting materials to prevent the risk of a short circuit.

Artificial Snow

Some artificial snow sprays or decorations are flammable.

Be cautious when using them, and follow the instructions on the product carefully.

Dry Decorative Materials

If using decorative materials like straw, ensure they are treated to be flame-retardant. Untreated dry materials can quickly catch fire.

Fabric Decorations

Fabric ornaments and decorations can be flammable, especially if they are not flame-retardant. Keep them away from heat sources and flames.
