White painted walls can be perfect for minimalistic and spacious interior designs, but they are generally harder to maintain clean.

If you have kids or pets, or just are a bit careless sometimes, then you can easily leave dark spots on them.

Here are a few tips on how to clean them carefully.

Dust the walls

Use a dry cloth or duster to remove any loose dirt or dust from the walls.

This will help prevent scratching the paint when cleaning.

Create a cleaning solution

Fill the bucket with warm water and add a small amount of mild dish soap.

Mix the solution gently until it creates a soapy mixture.

Test the solution

Before applying the cleaning solution to the entire wall, test it on a small, inconspicuous area to ensure it doesn't damage the paint.

Wait a few minutes and check for any adverse effects.

Clean the spots

Dip the cloth or sponge into the soapy water and gently scrub the dark spots on the wall.

Start with a light pressure and increase as needed, being careful not to scrub too vigorously and damage the paint.

Rinse with clean water

After scrubbing, dampen a clean cloth or sponge with plain water.

Use it to rinse the area where you cleaned the dark spots. This will remove any soap residue.

Dry the walls

Once you've rinsed the area, use a dry cloth or towel to gently pat the wall dry.

Avoid rubbing, as it can cause streaks or damage the paint.

Check for remaining spots

Assess the wall to see if any dark spots remain.

If so, repeat the cleaning process on those areas until the spots are gone.

Maintain cleanliness

To prevent future dark spots, regularly dust and clean your walls using a soft cloth or duster.

Promptly clean any spills or stains to avoid them setting and becoming more difficult to remove.
