If you want to cook something simple, but delicious, then you should try making lasagna!
This dish is loved by almost everybody, it tastes amazingly, and it doesn't require lots of skills to cook it.
Here's how you can cook it perfectly, even if it's your first time.
Set your oven to the temperature specified on the lasagna noodle package.
Boil a large pot of water and add the lasagna noodles.
Cook them according to the package instructions until they are al dente (cooked but still slightly firm).
Drain the noodles and set them aside.
In a large skillet or saucepan, cook the ground meat until it's browned.
Add diced onions and minced garlic and cook them until they are softened.
Pour in the tomato sauce and season it with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs.
Simmer the sauce for about 10-15 minutes.
In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, beaten eggs, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
Mix them together until well combined.
In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom.
Place a layer of cooked lasagna noodles on top.
Spread a layer of the cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by a layer of the meat sauce.
Repeat these layers until you run out of ingredients, finishing with a layer of meat sauce on top.
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese on the top layer of meat sauce.
Cover the baking dish with foil and place it in the preheated oven.
Bake for about 30-40 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the foil during the last 10 minutes of baking to allow the cheese to brown slightly.
Once baked, remove the lasagna from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
This allows the layers to settle and makes it easier to cut and serve.
Cut the lasagna into portions and serve it while it's still warm. It pairs well with a side salad and garlic bread.
