You probably know about taurine - you can find it in many products, and even energy drinks.

Modern studies show that lack of taurine can be pretty bad for you, so you better add more food with taurine in your diet.

But why is it so beneficial?

Exploring the Power of Taurine

New research led by Columbia University points to a potential connection between taurine, a nutrient produced in the body and found in various foods, and the aging process in animals.

The study also highlights the potential of taurine supplements in slowing down the aging process in worms, mice, and monkeys. In fact, it extended the healthy lifespan of middle-aged mice by up to 12%.

Interestingly, taurine levels were observed to decrease significantly with age in mice, monkeys, and humans.

In the case of middle-aged mice, supplementing with taurine increased their average lifespan by 12% in females and 10% in males. This translates to several additional human years.

Furthermore, taurine supplementation demonstrated positive effects on various health aspects in mice, including weight management, bone strength, muscle vitality, immune resilience, and more.

However, it's important to stress that while these findings are exciting, additional research is imperative to determine if taurine supplements can yield similar outcomes in humans.

Randomized clinical trials are essential to validate the potential anti-aging advantages associated with taurine.
