The World Health Organization (WHO) has defined the maturity limit - and this is not 30 or 40 years, but much more. Older people are now considered, according to scientists, people over 60 years old. Old age is called the age, the lower limit of which begins at 75 years. In addition, those who are over 89 years old are long-livers.

Why are people afraid of getting old

Fear of old age is a natural process. It is associated with a basic fear of impending death and the unknown. The reason may be changes in appearance (gray hair, wrinkles), a changed lifestyle (decreased activity and dependence on relatives).

However, studies show that endurance exercise such as running, swimming or cycling and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) slow down the signs of aging compared to weight lifting - at least at the cellular level.

How to make sure you don't get old

One of the main factors in aging is a change in our DNA. Over time, our genes begin to break down and lose their functionality.

To slow down aging and live healthy and vigorous old age, you need to act systematically: protect yourself from sunlight, perform endurance exercises, get enough sleep, fight stress, and eat a healthy diet.
