Not only your garden plants, but also houseplants require fertilizers sometimes.

But garden fertilizers aren't always safe and convenient enough to use at home.

Here are some options you can use to fertilize your houseplants instead.

Commercial Indoor Plant Fertilizers

These fertilizers are specifically formulated for houseplants and come in liquid, granular, or slow-release forms.

Follow the instructions on the product label for proper application and dosage.

Organic Fertilizers

Organic options include compost, composted manure, worm castings, and seaweed extracts.

These natural fertilizers enrich the soil with organic matter and release nutrients gradually.

Homemade Fertilizers

You can create your own fertilizers using kitchen scraps or natural ingredients.

Eggshells, banana peels, and coffee grounds can also be used as natural fertilizers when properly prepared.

Liquid Fertilizers

These fertilizers are diluted in water and applied directly to the soil or sprayed onto the foliage.

Liquid fertilizers are available in synthetic or organic forms and are convenient for regular feeding or foliar applications.

Slow-Release Fertilizers

These granular or pelletized fertilizers release nutrients gradually over an extended period.

They are placed in the soil and provide a steady supply of nutrients to the plants over time.
