Growing orchids is a difficult task. However, the result is worth it.
Yet saturated green petals and bright beautiful flowers are ways to attract the attention of any guest.
But it happens that the leaves of orchids begin to turn yellow. In such cases, inexperienced amateurs immediately begin to panic.
First you need to find out the reasons.
Why do the leaves of an orchid turn yellow
Quite often, improper watering leads to such a problem.
In this case, the upper and lower leaves change color, spots appear on the trunk, and the roots darken.
This mistake is usually made by beginners and just pours the plant. In extreme cases, the plant may simply die because of the fungus. In this case, you need to treat the orchid with special fungicides.
As noted by growers, watering the plant should be no more than 2-3 times a week during the period of active growth, and during the rest period only 2 watering per month will be enough.
There is also a problem when a pot with an orchid is standing in the scorching sun.
The plant does not like direct rays. In this case, the leaves with burns should not be cut off, it is enough to move the pot deep into the room or shade it. But at the same time, you should not leave the flower in the dark.
A shortage or overabundance of fertilizers can also lead to yellowing of the leaves.
Top dressing should be started after the end of the store flowering.
