Glue is an amazing tool that can help you create and fix lots of things, but it can create lots of mess sometimes.

Different kinds of glue can be easier or harder to get rid of, and that's why some glue stains are so difficult to get rid of.

Meanwhile, there are still a few things you can do to save your furniture.

Test an inconspicuous spot

Before you start, test your cleaning method on a small, hidden area of the furniture to make sure it doesn't damage the finish.

Scrape off excess glue

If the glue is still wet or soft, gently scrape off as much as you can with a plastic scraper or an old credit card.

Be careful not to scratch the furniture's surface.

Soak the glue

If there's still glue residue on the furniture, dip a soft cloth or sponge in warm, soapy water (you can add a little mild dish soap to the water) and gently rub the glue.

Let it soak for a few minutes to soften the glue.

Rub and wipe

After soaking, gently rub the glue spot with the cloth or sponge. Use circular motions and some light pressure. The glue should start to come off.

Rinse and dry

Rinse the area with clean water to remove any soap residue. Then, dry it thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth.

Persistent glue

If the glue is stubborn, you can try a mixture of equal parts vinegar and water or rubbing alcohol.

Dampen a cloth with one of these solutions, rub the glue gently, and then rinse and dry as before.

Finish with furniture polish

After you've removed the glue, you can apply a little furniture polish to restore the shine and protect the furniture's finish.

Conclusion

It's always better to prevent glue stains from happening, so protect your furniture when possible.

But when it's too late - then you can still fix your mistakes and make your furniture nice and clean again!
