Start with whole grain oatmeal.
Regular cereal will make milk too slimy.
Follow 3 simple steps and you will get 1 liter of oat milk:
- Place 1 cup whole grain oats, 4 cups cold water, and a little salt and sugar, if desired, in a blender.
- Beat the mixture for 30-40 seconds until smooth.
- Strain the prepared liquid through a fine sieve or cheesecloth.
The remaining mass after squeezing milk can be used for baking.
As additives, you can use vanilla, Jerusalem artichoke syrup, cocoa powder, maple syrup, dates, honey or agave.
How to properly store oat milk
Store plant-based milk in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
