Pistachios have a pleasant nutty taste; they are fragrant and are used as a treat in fresh, pickled and fried form, as well as for confectionery.

Health benefits of pistachios

These nuts contain large amounts of vitamin E, known as a natural antioxidant that rejuvenates the body, as well as vitamin C, B vitamins, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, and iron. Among other things, pistachios are an excellent source of copper, manganese, as well as proteins, dietary fiber, thiamine, and phosphorus.

Pistachios also have a beneficial effect on the heart, which is confirmed by doctors: thanks to fatty acids, they help burn "bad" cholesterol and prevent the development of heart attacks and atherosclerosis. Vitamins such as potassium and magnesium normalize the heartbeat and strengthen blood vessels.

Why are pistachios so expensive

The reason for the high price is the difficulty of growing and harvesting pistachios. Pistachio brings a crop at least in the seventh year of life, and even later. The nuts are harvested once a year and only at night, because during the day the tree emits substances hazardous to health. Each nut is harvested, cleaned and dried by hand.
