Rice is one of the healthiest and tastiest options for most people.
Plain rice can be too boring and blend, but good seasoning can improve its taste a lot.
Here's how you should do it.
Choose your seasonings
Common seasonings for rice include salt, herbs, spices, and aromatics such as garlic or onion powder.
Use the right amount of liquid
Follow the recommended rice-to-water ratio indicated on the rice package or recipe.
This ratio may vary depending on the variety of rice you prefer.
Add seasonings straight to the liquid
To ensure the grain absorbs the flavors evenly, add your desired seasonings to the cooking liquid.
Reduce heat and then cover
Once the liquid with your rice starts to boil, reduce the heat a bit, cover the pot with a well-fitting lid, and leave the rice to simmer.
Leave it for a while
After the rice has finished cooking, remove it from the rice cooker and let it rest, still covered, for 5 or 10 minutes.
Fluff with a fork
Gently fluff the dish with a fork to separate the grains and release any excess water.
Taste and adjust seasoning
Before serving, taste the rice and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
