Parrots are extremely interesting pets that can be taught to talk. This article will explain how it works and how to achieve it.
Birds speak with the help of a unique speech organ - the syrinx. It has a completely different structure than the human larynx. However, it is thanks to him that birds have the ability to reproduce what they hear. Birds contract muscles inside the syrinx to produce sound.
You need to start learning to talk with simple words that have vowels “a”, “o” and consonants - “k”, “p”, “p”, “t”. The first word may be the name of the parrot. Best of all, parrots perceive words with increased emotional coloring: questions, exclamations and greetings.
The parrot should be placed on a hand or play stand, or left in a cage on a crossbar. After you manage to attract the pet's attention, repeat the desired phrase 10-20 times in a row. These should be phrases that you often use in everyday life. Speak them clearly and emotionally.
Usually budgerigars talk after 3-5 months of regular training, but your budgie may be faster or, conversely, slower. The first word should not be expected earlier than in 2-3 months, but further training will go at a more pleasant pace.
