In a recent paper published in PLOS One, researchers surveyed 1,418 cat owners to gather information about the effects of a meat-based or vegan diet on cats' health over at least a year.

How many times a day should you feed your cat

It is recommended to feed an adult cat 2-3 times a day, preferably in the morning and evening.

However, there are exceptions if the veterinarian prescribed fractional meals for the pet, if there are diseases with housing and communal services.

A pregnant or nursing cat eats more than usual, so it needs to be fed up to 4 times a day.

An animal, like a person, must have a diet. For adult cats, the best option is to feed 2 times, morning and evening.

What vegetables can cats eat

Vegetables in small quantities are allowed and even healthy.

Fiber promotes the normal functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, stimulates intestinal motility, and helps the body get rid of hair.

Fiber creates a feeling of fullness without being digested, so it helps overweight cats get in shape.

Vegetables that can be given to cats include broccoli, carrots, pumpkin, green beans and peas.

They are rich in vitamins and minerals that can be beneficial for your cat's immune system and digestion.

How to Properly Alternate Dry and Wet Cat Food

Feed the same foods daily.

For example, when transferring a pet to a mixed diet, the animal should receive 60% of the “drying” of the daily norm of dry food and 40% of canned food from the daily norm of wet food.

It is good to leave dry food in a bowl in the morning, and feed wet food in the evenings.
