They live in tropical forests and stay in the crowns of tall trees.

What do macaws look like

Most have bright plumage of various colors: yellow, blue, red, although there are blue-gray parrots.

A distinctive feature is the wedge-shaped tail, the length of which exceeds the length of the body.

The macaw's beak is large, with a curved tip, and there are partially bare areas around the eyes.

What can a macaw parrot do

The macaw can be taught to speak, but it is much better at imitating different sounds: barking, meowing, whistling, coughing, laughing.

The parrot also imitates musical instruments quite well.

The first evidence of captive breeding of macaws dates back to 1250-1450, when the breeding center was Paquimé, located northwest of Chaco Canyon.

Why does the macaw parrot scream

Screaming is a completely natural phenomenon for parrots. In the wild, they use it to ward off threats from predators and warn their relatives of danger.

Nevertheless, at home, such a means of communication can cause discomfort to all family members.
