Mint is a plant that is added to tea, soft drinks, desserts and ice cream. In the article you will learn what is important to consider when growing mint.
Loose, fertile soil is suitable for the plant. If there is too much lime in the soil, then the mint will lose its aroma a little; it grows worst of all in clay areas. When choosing a location, preference is given to a sunny, open area.
You need to plant mint in spring, in April, or in summer, in early August. Keep in mind that it grows very quickly and other plants can survive. Mint prefers loose fertile soils with enough light. It can grow on calcareous soils, but the aroma will not be too strong.
Mint is not recommended to be planted next to plants that have a weak root system, especially if the roots are located at a shallow depth. In particular, it is capable of destroying most types of greenery. Parsley, lettuce, basil, green onions, and radishes are not planted next to it.
Mint does well in normal humidity levels, but it's a good idea to mist it periodically to keep it dust-free. You need to water quite often, about three times a week, but in moderation.
