Dracaena is an ornamental tropical evergreen plant that is suitable for the home garden.

It lives for about 15 years and can grow up to 3 meters in height.

Over time, the dracaena trunk becomes woody and begins to resemble a palm tree.

In what pot should dracaena grow

For a small plant whose length is 40 cm, a pot of 20 cm in diameter is suitable.

It is worth remembering that the container should not be too large, otherwise it will lead to death.

What does dracaena like

Dracaena is a moisture-loving plant and needs to be watered abundantly. Over-drying of the earthen coma is unacceptable; moreover, the earth should remain slightly moist all the time.

However, this flower cannot be filled either. Stagnation of water together with low temperatures can lead to the death of the plant.

What does dracaena not like

Dracaena should not be placed in direct sunlight or in the shade.

The ideal place for it is a short distance from the window.

However, if your windows face the dark side and there is practically no direct sunlight there, then you can put the dracaena directly on the windowsill. There will be no harm from this.

How to water dracaena correctly

Compared to other houseplants, Dracaena recumata requires less water.

It is enough to water once a week or as the soil surface dries out. You should place a tray under the pot.

The plant should be watered slowly until water begins to flow out from the bottom of the pot.
