About 1000 varieties of cherries are known in the world. Sweet cherry due to less winter hardiness is distributed lower than cherry. A vigorous tree enters into active fruiting at the age of 6-7 years.
Cherry is very fond of heat and light, so it is usually planted in areas well lit by the sun. At the same time, it is worth protecting the tree from drafts. Since cherries do not tolerate transplants well, the place of its permanent location should be chosen thoughtfully and in advance.
Plants are planted when the soil has warmed up enough, but the buds have not yet opened. Mid-April is suitable for landing.
Before planting a plant, inspect its roots. If damaged or rotten are found, then they need to be cut to a healthy tissue, and the cuts should be smeared with crushed charcoal.
Take two to three pits and plant in a pot with well-drained soil indoors. Water regularly. When shoots appear, leave only the strongest of the group, take care of it all winter, and in early spring, when the soil warms up, transplant it to a permanent place in the open air.
When the tree begins to bear fruit, care changes somewhat: For good fruiting, mineral and organic fertilizers must be applied - once in the summer and once during the autumn digging of the earth. Also in the fall, you can cover the near-trunk zone in a circle with fresh manure, in which case the earth is not dug up.
