How to Grow Zinnias

Zinnias are a great decoration for any garden. They look great both in single plantings and in group compositions.

Due to their unpretentiousness and bright colors, zinnias will become a real decoration of your garden and will delight you with their flowering throughout the summer.

Zinnia is a beautiful and bright plant that is easy to grow from seeds. To get healthy seedlings, the seeds are soaked in late February or early March.

For sowing, you can use special seedling containers, which are filled with nutritious and loose soil mixture.

The seeds are distributed at a distance of about 3 cm from each other, sprinkled with a thin layer of gunt and covered with film to create a greenhouse effect.

It is recommended to start sowing zinnias in late March or early April.

The seeds should be planted to a depth of about 1 cm to ensure healthy and strong growth of seedlings.

After the shoots appear, the film can be removed and the seedlings can be placed in a bright place.

How to care for zinnia

Caring for zinnia does not require much effort.

In order for the plant to grow well and delight you with its bright flowers, it is necessary to regularly weed the beds, remove weeds and loosen the soil.

Zinnias should be watered abundantly, especially in hot weather, but it is important to water the plant at the root to avoid moisture getting on the buds and leaves, which can lead to their rotting.

Zinnias prefer sunny places and fertile soil. It is also important to feed the plants with fertilizers, especially during the period of active growth and flowering.

For this, you can use complex mineral fertilizers or organic fertilizers.

If you want to extend the flowering period of zinnias, regularly remove faded flowers.

This stimulates the plant to form new buds and prolongs its decorative effect.

It is also worth remembering that zinnias are sensitive to frost, so seedlings should be planted in open ground only after the threat of night frosts has passed.
