Green peas can be an amazing addition to many dishes - healthy, tender, nutritious.

It's not that hard to plant them - you just need to take good care of it after.

Here's how you can plant green peas in your garden.

Seeds

Start by obtaining high-quality green pea seeds from a reputable supplier or garden center.

Location

Pick a pretty sunny location in your garden that gets about 6 hours of direct sunlight every day.

Make sure the soil is well-draining and fertile.

Soil preparation

Green peas prefer slightly acidic soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.5.

If necessary, adjust the soil pH using appropriate amendments.

Add organic matter, such as compost or well-rotted manure, to make soil more fertile and drained.

Planting time

Green peas are typically planted in March, when the soil is warm and soft enough for planting.

The exact planting time may vary depending on your specific location and climate.

In some regions, a second planting in August for a fall harvest may be possible.

Planting method

Dig a trench about 2 inches deep and place the seeds about 2-3 inches apart within the trench.

Cover the seeds with soil and gently pat it down.

Watering

Keep the soil moist, but don't overwater it.

Watering deeply once or twice a week, depending on rainfall, is usually sufficient.
