You can grow shiitake at home or in the country on your own, without purchasing this entire kit.
Shiitake can be grown either on wood logs or on wood shavings about 3 mm in size (chopped branches and bark), molded into substrate blocks.
About a week before sowing, sections of logs (stumps) are soaked in cold water.
Multiple holes are drilled in the wood in advance (diameter 2 cm, depth up to 5 cm).
After the logs are saturated with moisture, shiitake grain mycelium is introduced into the holes.
The room temperature should be from +8 ° to +26 ° C.
During the growth process, 6-8 hours of light, room ventilation and 65-80% humidity are required.
The transition to the fruiting phase can be accelerated by making small holes in the blocks for air flow.
This should be done during the "white block" period.
The mycelium grows in warmth for 1.5-2.5 months, and then it is freed from the film or removed from the container and transferred to cool and damp rooms for fruiting.
The harvest from open blocks is harvested within 3-6 months.
To accelerate the growth of mycelium and increase productivity, nutritional supplements are added to the substrate.
